Busy Book Pages: Color Matching for Toddlers

In 2020 we had our first kid, which meant by 2022, we had someone who needed entertained for 2 hours of church every Sunday. My husband was in graduate school in Colorado and we didn’t have a lot of money to buy busy books and toys. But I did have a lot of spare time after my 2 year old went to bed! So I hopped on Canva and made a color matching sheet. This was by far the thing that got used the most at church for several months. It is still good for older kids too, as my first born is now 6 and still requests to do it occasionally. But he is much faster at it and it no longer takes him the full hour of Sacrament meeting.
We would lay out the pages with the color squares on them, and then we would hand the toddler a ziploc bag with the colored picture cut outs and tell him to match them to the correct item. Little did we know that a year later we would discover that our little boy was colorblind. But nonetheless, fun was had and I got to hear bits and pieces of the talks given at church that day.
If this is just a quick one and done for you, I would leave the papers as is. But if you hope to reuse them as we did, I highly recommend laminating them! This is the laminator I use and it has been a workhorse for me! I have only ever used the scotch brand laminating pouches, but I would imagine other brands would work just fine as long as they are the same size or smaller.
