2025 Year in Review: A New Year’s Eve Party Game

If you know me, you know I love party games. We have been playing quite a few this Christmas season with my family when we get together (more on that in another post. I have several ideas for you). But I thought it would be fun to put together a trivia game of things that have happened in the past year. If you don’t have a news source that you like, I highly recommend checking out the Morning Brew, which is where I pulled all of my headlines from for this game. Each morning I get an email with a newsletter that is funny and easy to read. It is the only way I am capable of staying up to date on the current events. Most of the time, email subscriptions annoy me. But I have been subscribed to the Brew for about 3 years and I have loved it. And they don’t pay me to say that either.

I have the game in multiple formats. First and foremost, I have a Jeopardy style game available in both Powerpoint and Google Slides. Enter the Presenter mode so that you don’t show the answers to everyone, as they are in the presenter notes. If game show format isn’t your style, I also have printable cards with the answers on them. You can divide into teams and have each team quiz the other to see who will get the most correct. And if that isn’t your style, you can choose one person to run the show with the printable cards. This format allows the most variation for how you want to run the game (permitting the other team to steal because they don’t already see the answer on the card). Also, it can just be accessed digitally if you don’t have access to the printer.

So tell your friends to brush up on their current events, all the way back to January 1st, 2025. Prepare to review all the highs, lows, and moments in between that we have experienced.
