The Best Moist Banana Bread Recipe (Easy, Homemade & One Bowl)

I searched high and low for a good banana bread recipe. I tried many that turned out either too dry, moist on the inside but burnt on the outside, or just minimal flavor. But my sister discovered this one and it is too good not to share. I always add in chocolate chips because I love the chocolate and banana combination, but if you like nuts it would be delicious with walnuts as well. If you prefer these as muffins, those are really good with this recipe as well! You just have to adjust the cook time to 25-30 minutes.

Ingredients: Directions:

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 overripe bananas
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1.5 cup flour
  • Optional: Chocolate chips, walnuts, peanut butter chips, or whatever you like in your breads!
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a bread pan with oil spray.
  3. In a microwave safe bowl, melt your butter.
  4. Add two bananas and mash until it is well combined.
  5. Add in 1/2 cup sugar and stir.
  6. Add 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg and stir until well combined.
  7. Mix in 1 1/2 cup flour until just combined.
  8. Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips, walnuts, or peanut butter chips if desired!
  9. Pour mixture into prepared loaf pan and bake for 40 minutes to 1 hour. Oven times vary. Mine usually takes closer to an hour. To check your bread, stick a toothpick in the middle and see if it comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool for neat slices. Although it is delicious when it is warm as well! Just a little more crumbly.
